I have had this image in my mind for a number of years. It's a scene one can capture in spring or autumn with ease, but to have the opportunity to do so in deep snow is rare. So it was with great joy that a week ago it dumped with snow on the Friday evening. I was away from home at 06.30 the following morning, experienced some "interesting" driving conditions, but made it to Wharfedale. The usual parking spots were snowed in, so I went to Bolton Abbey instead. I eventually reached here in early afternoon, expecting footprints to have ruined the scene, but was delighted to discover nobody else had visited. I love it when a plan comes together!
