Lands End

Lands End - Cornwall

The sky was clear, with the exception of a build up of cloud on the horizon. Whilst a clear sky means lots of lovely blue light is reflected off the water, it isn't that photogenic. So I made the decision to compose the image with minimal sky. I waited for the setting sun to dip below the horizon, reducing contrast levels, and allowing an exposure of 25 seconds. The three icons of Lands End are the arch of Enys Dodnan, the rock named Armed Knight, and Longships lighthouse guarding the headland. Nikon D800 35mm lens f16 25 seconds. 20/5/2014 21.15.
